Panic suddenly broke out at Mutiara Bangsa High School in the Cipondoh Indah sub-district, Cipondoh District, Tangerang City.

A female student experienced an unexpected incident where her hand got stuck in the gap of an iron chair inside the classroom.

The incident occurred on Monday at 6:40 PM local time. A student named Ellen had her middle finger trapped, immediately drawing the attention of teachers and other students.

A squad commander explained that he and other members were immediately dispatched to the location after receiving a report from the high school.

“During the evacuation process, the condition of the victim’s hand, an 11th-grade student, became increasingly swollen, causing her to cry hysterically,” he stated.

Using special equipment and high precision, the disaster management personnel successfully freed the student’s hand after nearly 2 hours of effort.

Fortunately, the victim did not suffer any serious injuries, although she was immediately taken to the nearest community health center for further examination.

“Our officers had to work carefully to avoid injuring the child. Part of the chair had to be cut,” he said.

He noted that this incident serves as an important reminder of the need for supervision of school facilities and safety education for students to prevent them from playing carelessly with equipment around them.

“We deployed three personnel to evacuate the student’s hand. Fortunately, the victim is in good health,” he concluded.
