TANGERANGNEWS.com – Tangerang Mayor Sachrudin issued a sharp statement directly criticizing the performance of his subordinates during a monthly evaluation meeting in the Akhlakul Karimah room on Monday, September 1, 2025.

Sachrudin assessed the slow response of Tangerang City Government officials during a resident demonstration on Jalan Perintis Kemerdekaan, Cikokol, on Friday night, August 29, 2025.

“Public Order Agency, Fire Department, there was a demonstration on Perintis Cikokol road yesterday. Not a single one responded. They all disappeared. And it was only half past 11. Meanwhile, I was there until 2 in the morning,” Sachrudin stated slowly but pointedly.

He emphasized that technical agencies were nearly unreachable when needed. “I contacted the Disaster Management Agency, no answer. I contacted the Environment Agency, even worse. Where is Environment, where is Public Order, also gone,” he said.

The mayor felt that city officials seemed to wash their hands of the matter, even though the effects of the demonstration were still felt until the early hours. “The goal was for things to gradually settle after the midnight demonstration. But there was burning. A lot of trash. It was still very dirty until morning,” Sachrudin mentioned.

The sharp statement was uploaded to the official Instagram account @prokopimkotatangerang and immediately sparked reactions from netizens.

“Were they fast asleep? How could the leaders be sleeping soundly while there was a movement happening. Be careful not to get caught off guard, Sir,” wrote user @zilot_sibontot.

Another netizen speculated that the criticism was a code for official reassignments within the Tangerang City Government. “This is a strong signal from the Mayor for reassigning officials in the Tangerang City Government related to performance,” stated user @mus_mamik.

“Just replace the incompetent officials, Mr. Mayor,” added user @eminem_boro.

Sachrudin himself has not mentioned anything about official reassignments. However, this strong statement serves as a clear signal that he is serious about employee discipline and performance.
