In order to create safe, orderly, and smooth traffic conditions ahead of the implementation of Operation Ketupat Jaya 2026, the Metro Tangerang City Police carried out the Regional Independent Police Operation “Keselamatan Jaya 2026” on Monday, February 2.

This operation carries the theme “Realization of Safe, Comfortable, and Secure Traffic Order and Security” and will be carried out for 14 days, starting from February 2 to February 15, across the entire legal jurisdiction of the Metro Jaya Regional Police, including the jurisdiction of the Metro Tangerang City Police.

The operation aims to increase public awareness and compliance with traffic regulations, while also reducing the number of violations and accidents.

“The hope is that the public will become more disciplined in traffic, thereby creating a safe, comfortable, and secure situation for all road users,” stated the Police Chief.

In its implementation, the operation targets a number of traffic violations that have the potential to cause accidents, including:

1. Drivers Using Mobile Phones While Driving (ARTICLE 283 of the Traffic Law);

2. Underage Drivers (ARTICLE 281 JUNCTO ARTICLE 77 PARAGRAPH 1 of the Traffic Law);

3. Use of Rotating Lights Not in Accordance with Their Intended Purpose (ARTICLE 287 PARAGRAPH 4 of the Traffic Law);

4. Motorcycle Riders Not Using SNI Standard Helmets (ARTICLE 291 PARAGRAPH 1 of the Traffic Law);

5. Drivers Not Using Seat Belts (ARTICLE 289 of the Traffic Law);

6. Drivers Under the Influence of Alcohol (ARTICLE 311 of the Traffic Law);

7. Drivers Going Against Traffic Flow (ARTICLE 287 PARAGRAPH 1 of the Traffic Law);

8. Drivers Exceeding the Speed Limit (ARTICLE 5 JUNCTO ARTICLE 106 PARAGRAPH 4 of the Traffic Law);

9. Use of Exhaust Pipes Not Meeting Specifications or Noisy Exhaust Pipes (ARTICLE 285 PARAGRAPH 1 of the Traffic Law);

10. Stop Line Marking Violations (ARTICLE 287 of the Traffic Law);

11. Motor Vehicle Registration Plates Not in Accordance with Regulations (ARTICLE 280 of the Traffic Law).

The Police Chief emphasized that the operation’s execution prioritizes not only law enforcement but also an educational approach to the public.

“We prioritize preemptive and preventive measures through continuous socialization to the public. However, law enforcement is still carried out professionally, selectively, and humanely,” he asserted.

To support the operation’s effectiveness, the Metro Tangerang City Police have increased personnel presence at violation and accident-prone spots, and maximized the use of static ETLE, mobile ETLE, and precision patrol drones, supported by humane manual enforcement.

Through the operation, the Metro Tangerang City Police invites all members of the public to become pioneers of traffic safety for shared security.

“Safety on the road is our shared responsibility. Orderly traffic is not just to avoid sanctions, but to protect oneself and other road users,” concluded the Police Chief.

Metro Tangerang City Police

The Metro Tangerang City Police is a law enforcement agency responsible for the Tangerang municipality in Banten Province, Indonesia. It was established as part of the broader Indonesian National Police (Polri) to maintain public order and security in this major urban area near Jakarta. Its history is tied to the rapid development and administrative changes of the Greater Jakarta metropolitan region.

Operation Ketupat Jaya 2026

“Operation Ketupat Jaya 2026” is not a place or cultural site, but rather a large-scale annual security operation conducted by the Indonesian National Police. It is implemented during major holidays like Eid al-Fitr (known as *mudik* or homecoming season) to ensure safety, security, and smooth traffic flow across the country, particularly on the island of Java. The “2026” designation simply refers to the planned iteration of this recurring operation for that specific year.

Keselamatan Jaya 2026

Based on the available information, “Keselamatan Jaya 2026” does not appear to refer to a known historical place, cultural site, or established event. The name translates from Indonesian/Malay as “Safety/Prosperity 2026,” suggesting it could be a theme, a project name, or a slogan for a future initiative, possibly related to community development or safety, rather than a physical location with a documented history.

Metro Jaya Regional Police

The Metro Jaya Regional Police (Polda Metro Jaya) is the Indonesian National Police command responsible for the capital region of Jakarta and its satellite cities. It was officially established in 1967 and is historically significant for maintaining order in the nation’s political and economic center, often playing a prominent role during major national events and periods of social change.
