The Literature, Publishing, and Translation Authority organized an open virtual meeting titled “Legal Translation,” discussing the concept of legal translation, the key challenges faced by practitioners, as well as the skills and qualifications a legal translator must possess.
The meeting began by highlighting the vital role of legal translation in strengthening international and commercial relations, contributing to creating an attractive investment environment, given the progress in this field in the Kingdom and the Arab world, along with the growing awareness of its importance and the efforts made to develop it.
The meeting also shed light on the reality and significance of legal translation, which goes beyond mere linguistic transfer of text but includes conveying legal rights and concepts. This is achieved by training specialized translators, qualifying professionals, and establishing unified and precise standards to ensure the quality and reliability of translations.
