The Zakat, Tax, and Customs Authority (ZATCA) at Jeddah Islamic Port successfully thwarted an attempt to smuggle 310,000 amphetamine pills, known as “Captagon,” which were found hidden in a vehicle arriving in the Kingdom through the port.

During the inspection and examination of one of the vehicles arriving via Jeddah Islamic Port, this quantity of pills was discovered concealed in various parts of the vehicle.

After completing the seizure process, coordination was made with the General Directorate of Narcotics Control to ensure the arrest of eight individuals involved in receiving the confiscated items within the Kingdom.

The authority continues to enforce strict customs control over imports and exports to achieve community security and protect against such threats, in continuous cooperation and coordination with the General Directorate of Narcotics Control.

The authority encourages everyone to contribute to combating smuggling to protect society and the national economy by reporting through the designated security hotline (1910) or via email (1910@zatca.gov.sa). Reports related to smuggling crimes and customs violations are handled with full confidentiality, and a financial reward is offered if the information is verified.
