After a long vacancy, the Regional Public Company (Perumda) Tirtanadi of North Sumatra Province finally has a new leader.
Ardian Surbakti was appointed as the new Director by North Sumatra Governor Bobby Nasution at the 9th Floor Terrace of the Governor’s Office on Jalan Pangeran Diponegoro, Medan.
Along with Ardian Surbakti, Salman Sihotang was also appointed as Director of Administration and Finance of Perumda Tirtanadi, and Fajar Siddik as Chairman of the Supervisory Board of the Regional Company for Various Industries and Services (PD AIJ).
“Congratulations on today’s inauguration. I wish you success in your new roles,” said Bobby Nasution in his address, accompanied by North Sumatra Provincial Secretary Togap Simangunsong.
However, Bobby Nasution reminded them not to treat the inauguration as merely ceremonial. The main focus should be on improving services and increasing revenue.
The newly appointed directors of Tirtanadi were instructed to immediately improve water quality. Second, they were given full authority to evaluate and propose internal changes if performance does not align with the company’s vision and mission.
Third, they were asked to follow up on the plan to merge all Tirtanadi branches across North Sumatra. As for PD AIJ, it is expected to become a source of regional revenue and a service provider for the community.
“If water quality cannot be improved and remains unfit for public use, then make it free. If it cannot be fixed, reduce the burden on low-income residents by lowering water prices,” Bobby emphasized.
Additionally, he urged improvements in Tirtanadi’s internal management. “This will ensure that investors can provide meaningful contributions,” Bobby concluded.
