The North Sumatra High Prosecutor’s Office displayed stacks of money worth Rp 150 billion seized in a suspected corruption case involving the management/sale/transfer of assets of PTPN I Regional I by PT Nusa Dua Propertindo (NDP) for the development of Citraland housing in the Sampali, Helvetia, and Tanjung Morawa areas through an Operational Cooperation (KSO) with PT Ciputra Land covering 8,077 hectares.
The money was returned by PT Deli Megapolitan Kawasan Residensial (DMKR) as the investor or developer of Citraland housing, as an effort to save and recover state finances from the handling of the corruption crime.
In handling this case, the investigation team has detained three suspects: Askani (Head of the North Sumatra National Land Agency Regional Office 2022-2024), Rahim Lubis (Head of the Deli Serdang National Land Agency Office 2023-2025), and Iman Subakti (Director of PT NDP), where the investigation process is still being intensively conducted by the team.
In a press conference at the North Sumatra High Prosecutor’s Office, it was stated that in this case, the investigation team certainly considers that just law enforcement can be achieved where the rights of consumers acting in good faith must be guaranteed and corporate operational continuity can be maintained on one hand.
“On the other hand, repressive law enforcement and the recovery of state rights must be carried out,” it was said.
Prosecutors acting as investigators in this corruption case of selling PTPN I Regional I assets are striving not only to punish the perpetrators but also to recover state financial losses.
“Investigators are also considering seizing the assets under litigation, but with this state financial loss recovery, it will be taken into account that the perpetrators have consciously returned or acted in good faith for the recovery of state finances,” it was explained.
Regarding the actual nominal amount of state financial loss, it is still in the process of calculation, and investigators will continue to await efforts to recover state financial losses.
“Of course, it will later be linked to the amount of state financial loss arising in this case,” it was said.
“With this tangible effort to recover state losses, investigators urge and hope that housing consumers who have acted in good faith remain calm and the public in general is not provoked if there are illegal attempts to control the assets under litigation,” said the Assistant for Special Crimes.
It was added that the Rp 150 billion will subsequently be seized by investigators and then deposited at Bank Mandiri’s Medan branch.
“This recovery of state financial losses is a positive action taken by individuals who consciously acknowledge or have acted in good faith, thus indirectly assisting the investigation team in efforts to recover and save state financial losses from handling criminal cases,” it was emphasized.
