Jakarta –
Police detected a planned brawl involving a large number of people in East Jakarta (Jaktim). Dozens of individuals and sharp weapons were secured by the authorities.
“Out of 100 teenagers monitored at the location, the team successfully secured 35 individuals. The rest fled during the dispersal process,” said a police spokesperson.
Police thwarted the planned brawl on Thursday around 4:00 AM on Mundu Street, near the Lubang Buaya soccer field in Cipayung District, East Jakarta. Dozens of individuals were secured at the field, which served as the gathering point for a combined group of teenagers from East Jakarta, Depok, Bogor, and Tangerang.
The arrests were the result of coordinated efforts between multiple police units.
From the operation, police seized several pieces of evidence, including 60 two-wheeled vehicles, 2 four-wheeled vehicles, 27 sharp weapons, 20 mobile phones, 15 wallets, and one bag suspected of being used to store dangerous tools.
The teenagers were charged under Article 2, Paragraph 1 of the 1951 Emergency Law in conjunction with Articles 55, 56, or 53 of the Criminal Code. The suspects were taken to the East Jakarta Metro Police Station for further investigation.

“The phenomenon of teenage brawls must be taken seriously by all members of society. We urge parents to pay closer attention to their children’s activities and social circles, especially during vulnerable hours,” the spokesperson emphasized.
The suspects reportedly belonged to several gangs, including the Amser Setu Cipayung Gang, which joined forces with the Padi Gang from Depok and Bogor. They were allegedly planning to clash with the Molek Gang from Pondok Gede, with the meeting point set in the Lubang Buaya area.
“Some of them are still students, while others are already employed. They are known to frequently engage in brawls in East Jakarta,” the spokesperson added.
This operation reflects the police’s transparency in maintaining regional security and reducing juvenile delinquency, which often leads to criminal acts.
The public is encouraged to report any potential security disturbances or suspicious activities to the nearest police station or contact the Call Center at 110.
