The death benefit program (Sankem) in Depok City has officially been terminated as of Monday (30/6), as it is no longer included in the priority list of the Regional Medium-Term Development Plan (RPJMD) for 2025–2029 by the Mayor and Deputy Mayor.
Residents were given a final opportunity to submit their documents until 3:00 PM local time on the same day. The Head of the Depok Social Services Department stated that the termination was the result of a joint meeting with the Regional Development Planning Agency and alignment with the regional leadership’s vision and mission.
The Sankem program previously utilized the Unexpected Expenditure budget, targeting 3,100 beneficiaries. So far, funds amounting to Rp1.742 billion have been disbursed to 871 heirs in three phases. Phases four to six are still awaiting disbursement, which will continue until August 2025.
