BEKASI CITY – A house collapse incident in the RT 002 RW 005 area, Jatiluhur Village, Jatiasih District, which occurred some time ago, was caused by a natural disaster, and this has been accepted by Ridi’s family.
This was also acknowledged and reinforced by statements from the local RT and RW, who stated that the condition of Ridi’s house was not caused by the drainage repairs carried out by the Bekasi City Government, but rather by a natural disaster, specifically strong winds.
Regarding this situation, the Acting Head of the Bekasi City Public Works and Water Resources Office (DBMSDA) explained that his team had conducted a direct inspection of the house.
“The circulating news is not accurate; in fact, yesterday the team went down directly to check the condition of Mr. Ridi’s house, accompanied directly by Mr. Ridi, the RT, and the RW. They stated that strong winds caused Mr. Ridi’s house to collapse,” he said.
According to him, Ridi’s family has also provided a statement regarding the disaster they experienced. They also requested that the Bekasi City Government continue the drainage repairs currently being carried out.
“Currently, residents are asking us to continue the work to the end of the river. This is to minimize flooding if it rains,” he added.
The Public Works and Water Resources Office (DBMSDA) will continue the drainage repairs to the end of the river. However, since the land belongs to PT PMU, the BMSDA office will first coordinate with PT PMU to allow the use of part of their land for the construction of the drainage.
“We are still coordinating with the landowner, PT PMU, to continue the work,” he concluded.
Previously, there were allegations circulating that the house collapse was caused by the drainage repairs carried out by the Bekasi City Government.
