A public minivan driver in Bekasi City, West Java, with the initials AA (35), raped his passenger, KJS (15). During the assault, the perpetrator threatened to kill the victim with a knife.

The rape of KJS by AA occurred on Tuesday (17/9/2024) at 10:00 PM local time. AA raped KJS at the perpetrator’s rented house on Damai Street, Jatiasih, Bekasi City.

“The victim entered the minivan for a ride home and a conversation occurred with the perpetrator because the victim often rode in the perpetrator’s minivan. When they were near the victim’s house, the victim asked the perpetrator to stop the minivan, but the perpetrator did not stop and continued to take the victim to his rented room,” the statement explained during a press conference.

Upon arrival at the perpetrator’s rented room, the victim was asked to stay over, and it was known that the victim had stayed there before. In the room, the victim asked the perpetrator for help dyeing her hair. The perpetrator agreed to help the victim dye her hair.

“After the perpetrator dyed the victim’s hair, he pointed a knife at the victim while saying, ‘if you don’t take off your clothes and pants and you don’t want to serve me, I will lose control and kill you,’ which made the victim feel threatened and afraid.”

While the victim was frightened, the perpetrator carried out his heinous act. The victim attempted to resist, but was unsuccessful, and the perpetrator ultimately raped the victim.

“Based on the examination results, it is known that the perpetrator had intercourse with the victim once, and witness statements explain that the perpetrator did so because he was intoxicated and had lust for the victim.”

The victim was only able to leave the perpetrator’s rented room to return home after complaining of stomach pain. After this incident, the victim reported it, leading to the police apprehending the perpetrator.

On Tuesday (29/7) at around 4:20 PM local time, the perpetrator was arrested at Bekasi Station. The perpetrator has now been named a suspect and is charged under Article 81 of Indonesian Law Number 17 of 2016, which carries a maximum penalty of 15 years in prison.
