Tangerang City to Host Banten Provincial Sports Festival 2026, KORMI Banten Finalizes Preparations
Head of KORMI Banten, Nuraeni.
SERANG – The 2026 Provincial Community Sports Festival (Forprov) Banten will officially be held in Tangerang City. This community sports event, which is routinely held every two years, is scheduled to take place at the end of the year, specifically between November or December 2026.
The head of the Indonesian Community Sports Committee (KORMI) Banten, Nuraeni, stated that Forprov is one of KORMI Banten’s priority agendas this year. Currently, the committee is in the preparation stage to ensure the event runs smoothly.
More Than Just Overall Champion
Nuraeni emphasized that the selection of Tangerang City as the host was not based on their achievement as overall champion at Forprov 2024 in Pantai Anyer, Serang Regency. This decision was made more due to the region’s readiness, which is considered capable of supporting the event’s organization.
“It’s not because they were the overall champion at Forprov in Serang Regency in 2024, but rather due to the readiness of KORMI and the local government,” Nuraeni said while providing a statement in Serang City.
According to her, the Tangerang City Government has expressed its readiness to be a good host. This readiness includes the availability of competition venues, support from community enthusiasm, and adequate supporting infrastructure.
Nuraeni added that Tangerang City has excellent sports facilities that greatly support the various community sports branches to be contested. “There are many venues in Tangerang City,” she added.
