On June 5, 2026, the Security Directorate of Tajoura announced the launch of a security campaign to combat illegal immigration within its jurisdiction, in coordination with the Anti-Illegal Immigration Agency East of Tripoli.
The directorate stated in a press release that the campaign, which began at dawn on Friday, aimed to detain individuals violating residency and immigration laws, take the necessary legal measures against them, and refer them to the competent authorities in accordance with current legislation.
The directorate also noted that this campaign is part of its efforts to enhance security and stability, enforce the rule of law, and monitor the status of foreigners within its area of responsibility to ensure compliance with laws and regulations governing residency and immigration.
It further emphasized the continuation of security plans aimed at maintaining public order and security, and addressing all negative phenomena and legal violations.
