Tripoli – The head of the Government of National Unity discussed the latest developments in the Libyan political file with the UN Under-Secretary-General for Political and Peacebuilding Affairs, emphasizing the importance of the unified financial spending agreement in supporting stability.

This occurred during a meeting on the sidelines of the Antalya Diplomatic Forum, in the presence of the UN Secretary-General’s Special Representative and Head of the United Nations Support Mission in Libya, where developments in the political scene and ways to advance the political process toward ending the transitional phases were discussed.

Both sides emphasized the importance of maintaining institutional unity and supporting the national consensus-based path to enhance political stability in the country.

They praised the achievement of the unified financial spending agreement, considering it an important step after more than thirteen years of division, due to its direct impact on supporting economic stability and improving living conditions.

The head of the government stressed that the agreement represents a practical foundation for building a more stable phase and reflects a national will to overcome financial and institutional division, calling on all parties to commit to its implementation in the interest of the Libyan people.
