TANGERANG — The one-year leadership of Sachrudin-Maryono has recorded a number of important achievements in the fields of economy, food security, and community empowerment. Tangerang City’s economic growth increased from 5.04 percent in 2024 to 5.20 percent in 2025.

It was stated that the poverty rate decreased from 5.43 percent to 5.19 percent. One of the keys to this achievement is the “Gerakan Gampang Sembako” (Easy Staple Food Movement) program, which reaches 13 sub-districts and helps residents meet their basic needs at affordable prices.

“Not only that, innovation in urban agriculture has also been intensified through urban farming, including 76 Women Farmer Groups (KWT) and 39 fish farming groups,” it was stated last week.

“As a result, this program successfully produced 100,920 polybags of chili, tomato, and eggplant plants. 352,717 tilapia and catfish, 11,147 polybags of family medicinal plants, and 45 head of goat and sheep livestock,” it was added.

It was stated that throughout 2025, the city’s agricultural sector also produced 846 tons of rice, 4.7 tons of large chilies, and 4.9 tons of shallots, strengthening local food security.

Access to Education in Tangerang City is Expanding

Meanwhile, through the “Gampang Sekolah” (Easy School) program, these efforts have yielded tangible results with an increase in the Expected Years of Schooling (HLS) from 13.90 years in 2024 to 13.96 years in 2025. The Human Development Index (HDI) also experienced a significant increase from 81.53 points in 2024 to 82.41 points in 2025.

“This achievement is a strong indicator that the expansion of access and improvement in the quality of education is running effectively and has a direct impact on human resource development,” it was explained.

This improvement was achieved through the optimization of various educational facilities and services. The local government distributed higher education tuition assistance to 576 underprivileged students, amounting to Rp6 million per student.

In addition, free private school facilities could be utilized at 65 private elementary schools/Islamic elementary schools (SD/MI) and 74 private junior high schools/Islamic junior high schools (SMP/MTs). Inclusive education was also expanded with the availability of 53 inclusive elementary schools and 17 inclusive junior high schools.

“Through the Regional Operational Assistance for Inclusive Schools (BOSDA Inklusi), a total of 1,298 students with disabilities at the elementary and junior high school levels were successfully facilitated,” it was stated.

The Tangerang Cerdas (Smart Tangerang) Scholarship Program also became a main pillar. Assistance of Rp80 thousand per month was given to 10,446 students at public and private elementary schools, special needs elementary schools (SDLB/SKh), and Islamic elementary schools (MI). Meanwhile, Rp100 thousand per month was distributed to 5,000 students at public and private junior high schools, special needs junior high schools (SMPLB/SKh), and Islamic junior high schools (MTs).

“Support was also given to 18 accomplished athletes through special scholarships. The program includes free public transportation for students, incentives for educators and educational staff, as well as improvements to educational facilities and infrastructure,” it was detailed.

The Tangerang City Government also successfully proved that the flagship “Gampang Kerja” (Easy Work) program succeeded in significantly reducing the open unemployment rate, namely 5.88 percent (2025) compared to the previous year which reached 5.92 percent (2024).

The Tangerang City Government successfully absorbed 2,034 job seekers through the Job Fair program over the past year. The Tangerang City Government also successfully placed 6,206 job seekers through 116 Special Job Fairs (BKK) in 2025.

“The results are extraordinary, the Gampang Kerja program has been very effective in providing employment and reducing the unemployment rate in Tangerang City,” it was explained.

It was stated that over the past year, the Gampang Kerja program successfully absorbed 430 prospective professional workers to undergo an On The Job Training program at 11 leading companies. This is a new breakthrough
