The first major assembly of the Majelis Zikir, facilitated by MUMTAZ (Night for Supplication with Teaching and Dhikr), at Al Azhom Grand Mosque, Friday (12/09).

TANGERANG – In an effort to enhance faith and Islamic devotion, facilitated by MUMTAZ (Night for Supplication with Teaching and Dhikr) held its inaugural gathering attended by hundreds of congregants.

The solemn event took place at Al Azhom Mosque in Tangerang City on Friday (12/09) and included spiritual lectures and collective dhikr.

The Deputy Mayor of Tangerang stated that Mumtaz means extraordinary, special, superior, or perfect. This word is often used to describe a person or thing that stands out due to excellence.

“A person named Mumtaz often possesses outstanding talent or expertise, making them distinct and having great potential for success,” he said in his address.

Meanwhile, the spiritual leader of Mumtaz mentioned that the activity aims to enliven Al Azhom Mosque in Tangerang City and will be held regularly every month.

“This dhikr gathering, besides being held monthly, serves as a means for fostering kinship among Tangerang City residents and as a moment to enhance faith and piety. Additionally, it is hoped that Muslims can continue to strengthen morals and tighten bonds of brotherhood amidst diversity,” he said.

Strengthen Unity of the Ummah

“May the presence of the Mumtaz Dhikr Assembly further strengthen the unity of the ummah and make us better individuals in practicing Islamic teachings,” he added.

It is noted that Mumtaz Tqn is an abbreviation for Night for Supplication with Teaching and Dhikr, and TQN itself stands for Tarekat Qadiriyah wa Naqsabandiyah (TQN), a Sufi order that combines methods from the Qadiriyah and Naqsyabandiyah orders.

This order is considered mu’tabar (guaranteed in authenticity) and has many followers worldwide, with its center of spread in Southeast Asia, particularly Indonesia. The practices of TQN include dhikr, khataman, manaqiban, and riyadhah to improve morals, achieve spiritual tranquility, and draw closer to Allah.

The inaugural opening of the Mumtaz Dhikr Assembly was attended by important figures such as the Deputy Mayor of Tangerang, the DKM of Al Azhom Mosque in Tangerang City, and several heads of DKM throughout Tangerang City.
