Lomba English Talker Competition 2025 at the Atrium of TangCity Mall, Tangerang City, Sunday (31/08).
TANGERANG – English Talker United (ETU) for the first time held the English Talker Competition 2025 at the Atrium of TangCity Mall, Tangerang City, Sunday (31/08).
There were several categories competed in the English Talker Competition 2025, namely; spelling bee, speech, coloring, presentation challenge, describing picture, drama, and news casting.
“This competition is a major commitment by ETU to educate the younger generation and to build self-confidence in using English as a second language. This is our first time and in the future it will be made an annual agenda,”
It was added that the enthusiasm of the participants and parents who attended was also very high. This is because through the competition, children’s self-confidence to perform in public can be increased.
“We have a learning method called the Baby Philosophy Method, where children can learn English as they learn their mother tongue.”
ETU’s Method is Very Good
A parent of a competition participant conveyed that the method used in ETU’s learning is very good. This is proven by their child who already has the self-confidence to participate in a speech contest.
“My child just joined ETU at the beginning of May 2025. Their progress has been quite good and their self-confidence has increased. I hope that in the future, competitions like this can continue to be held to explore children’s potential,”
At the same location, one of the participants, who participated in the storytelling contest, stated that they wanted to try new things. Furthermore, they will try to participate in a speech contest.
“I want to try a new experience and have been preparing for a week. Previously, I also participated in a storytelling contest and won. Later, I want to try to participate in a speech contest,”

Tangerang City
Tangerang City is a historic port city in Indonesia’s Banten province, originally established in the 17th century as a defensive fortification by the Chinese community against the Dutch. It is often called “Benteng,” meaning “fortress,” a name that reflects this history. Today, it is a major industrial and manufacturing hub that forms part of the greater Jakarta metropolitan area.
English Talker United
I am not familiar with a specific place or cultural site named “English Talker United.” It does not appear to be a recognized historical landmark, museum, or cultural institution. It is possible this refers to a language learning group, a modern community organization, or a fictional entity rather than a physical location with a documented history.
Baby Philosophy Method
The “Baby Philosophy Method” is not a recognized place or cultural site, but rather an educational or parenting approach. It is a philosophy that encourages engaging even very young children in thoughtful dialogue and questioning to stimulate their cognitive development. The method focuses on treating babies as capable thinkers and fostering early critical thinking skills.
spelling bee
A spelling bee is a competitive event where contestants spell words aloud, originating in the United States in the 18th century. The modern Scripps National Spelling Bee, established in 1925, is the most famous such contest and has become a significant cultural tradition. It tests participants’ knowledge, memory, and composure under pressure.
speech contest
A speech contest is a competitive event where participants deliver prepared or impromptu speeches, often judged on criteria like content, delivery, and persuasion. Its history is rooted in ancient rhetorical traditions, such as those in Greece and Rome, where oratory was a vital skill for public life and debate. Modern contests, like those in schools and organizations, continue this tradition by fostering public speaking and critical thinking skills.
storytelling contest
A storytelling contest is a competitive event where participants share narratives, often rooted in oral traditions that date back to ancient societies. These contests serve to preserve cultural heritage, folklore, and personal histories through performance. Modern iterations can be found at festivals, schools, and dedicated clubs worldwide, celebrating the art of spoken narrative.
