Police Involve Community Organizations and NGOs to Guard Soekarno-Hatta Airport
Soetta Airport Police Hold Security Readiness Parade with Community Groups
Security at vital areas like Soekarno-Hatta Airport in Tangerang City is not solely the responsibility of the police.
To ensure the airport area remains conducive and free from disturbances, the Soetta Airport Police recently held a Community Security Readiness Parade.
This was not an ordinary parade; the activity united various community elements, from community organizations, NGOs, community groups, to Community Security and Order Awareness Groups.
The goal is clear: to strengthen synergy and collaboration between elements in maintaining security and order.
The Chief of Soetta Airport Police emphasized a very important point. He reminded that unity starts from within.
“Enhance the internal solidarity of each organization, because without solidarity, an organization cannot cooperate with other elements,” he stressed.
Furthermore, he issued a stern warning against the potential for division. He emphasized that differences should actually be a trigger for togetherness, not a reason for conflict.
“Do not exaggerate differences, but enhance togetherness. Avoid provocation and hate speech in the name of solidarity and actions without considering the general public interest,” he said.
The Police Chief also specifically highlighted the dangers of intolerance based on Ethnicity, Religion, Race, and Inter-group Relations, urging all parties to avoid it.
“Guard Jakarta” Collaboration and Accurate Information
In an effort to maintain a calming and peaceful atmosphere, he invited the public to play an active role.
“Provide information that calms and reassures the community. Together with the Indonesian National Police, we collaborate in the Guard Jakarta (Guard Our Village) program,” he urged.
Meanwhile, the Head of Public Relations for the Soetta Airport Police explained that this readiness parade is a concrete step to strengthen synergy between the Indonesian National Police and community security elements.
“To maintain and create a conducive security and order situation in the legal area of the Soekarno-Hatta Airport Police,” he concluded.
Soekarno-Hatta Airport
Soekarno-Hatta International Airport is the primary airport serving the Jakarta metropolitan area in Indonesia. Named after the country’s first president and vice president, Sukarno and Mohammad Hatta, it officially opened in 1985 to replace the overcapacity of the older Kemayoran Airport. The airport is a major hub for air travel in Southeast Asia.
Soetta Airport Police
The Soetta Airport Police is a specialized law enforcement unit responsible for security and public safety at Soekarno-Hatta International Airport in Jakarta, Indonesia. It was established to address the unique security needs of the country’s primary international gateway, which opened in 1985. The unit handles a range of duties from routine patrols to coordinating responses to potential threats within the airport complex.
Community Security and Order Awareness Groups
“Community Security and Order Awareness Groups” are grassroots organizations in China, historically organized by neighborhood committees to promote social stability and public safety. These groups typically involve local residents in community patrols, conflict mediation, and implementing government directives at the neighborhood level. Their activities reflect the Chinese government’s approach to maintaining social order through community participation and surveillance.
Indonesian National Police
The Indonesian National Police (POLRI) is the national law enforcement agency of Indonesia. It was formally established as an independent entity in 2000 after separating from the Indonesian Armed Forces (TNI), with whom it was integrated for much of its modern history. POLRI is now a centralized force responsible for maintaining public order and security throughout the archipelago.
Guard Jakarta
“Guard Jakarta” appears to refer to the National Monument (Monas), a major landmark in Jakarta, Indonesia. It was built in the 1960s to commemorate Indonesia’s struggle for independence from Dutch colonial rule. The towering obelisk, topped with a golden flame, symbolizes the nation’s fighting spirit and serves as a central point in the capital city.
Tangerang City
Tangerang City is a major industrial and manufacturing hub located in Banten Province, Indonesia, on the western outskirts of Jakarta. Historically, it was a significant settlement for the Chinese community, earning it the nickname “Benteng,” which means “fort,” a reference to a 17th-century fort built by the Chinese. Today, it is a key part of the Jakarta metropolitan area, known for its factories and its large and culturally influential Chinese-Indonesian population.
