Police stated that the truck renter who dumped waste into the Ciliwung River from the Cijago Toll Bridge visited the Jagorawi Toll PJR office. The renter apologized for the truck dumping feces from the toll bridge into the river.

“He (the renter) made a statement on a stamped paper; he was initially afraid to come. Eventually, he did come to the PJR office, and I then escorted him to the Cijago office to make a statement before the management,” said Jagorawi PJR’s Kainduk, Kompol Akhamd Jajuli.

Jajuli mentioned that they then accompanied the truck renter to the Cijago Toll office to apologize directly. Jajuli explained that the driver and assistant dumped the feces into the Ciliwung River to meet order targets.

“Yes (the renter apologized), so essentially, it must be checked again—waste cannot be dumped into the river. There is a disposal site at the landfill; it already exists. Because at the landfill, you have to pay 150,” he said.

“Well, why did he dump it there? Because he got another order, but the tank was still full. So, he dumped it carelessly to chase new order targets, but his method was wrong,” he added.

He stated that the truck renter initially wanted to return the vehicle to the owner. However, police advised the renter to apologize and make a stamped statement not to repeat the action.

“Originally, the vehicle was going to be returned to the owner. ‘No need, the important thing is that you apologize to Cijago and make a stamped statement that you will not repeat it’,” explained Jajuli.

From the video, the truck was on the Cijago Toll road. A hose from the truck was seen extending down to the Ciliwung River, dumping feces.

The person recording the video, who caught the truck dumping feces, was heard holding back nausea at the sight of the waste disposal.

“Well, reporting someone dumping waste on the toll bridge,” said the person recording the video as they caught the perpetrator.
