Jakarta

The Depok City Government has allocated a budget of IDR 70 billion for the widening of Enggram Road in Sawangan, Depok, West Java. This is an effort to address the frequent traffic congestion on Sawangan Main Road.

Depok Mayor, Supian Suri, stated that the IDR 70 billion budget is divided into two phases: IDR 40 billion for land acquisition and IDR 30 billion for road construction.

“The land acquisition is planned for this year, while the physical construction will begin next year,” said Supian on the official Depok City Government website.

The review was conducted to ensure the readiness of regional agencies and community support for this strategic project.

“We want to ensure all parties are ready to support resolving the traffic congestion issues on Sawangan Main Road as soon as possible,” he said.

Meanwhile, the Head of the Public Works and Housing Office of Depok City, Citra Indah Yulianty, explained that Enggram Road will be widened to 10 meters with a total length of 800 meters.

“Currently, the road is only about three meters wide, so it will be expanded by approximately seven meters,” said Citra.

Citra mentioned that the terrain at the location is quite challenging, requiring the construction of retaining walls at certain points.

“The elevation varies between five to ten meters, with relatively steep conditions. Therefore, in addition to road widening, retaining wall construction will also be carried out,” she added.
