BEKASI CITY – The Marhaen Sejahtera Indonesia Foundation (YAMSI) has reported the Bekasi City District Attorney’s Office to the Prosecutorial Commission (KOMJAK) regarding the handling of a suspected corruption case in the procurement of sports equipment at the Bekasi City Youth and Sports Agency (Dispora).

In its report dated August 14, 2025, YAMSI assessed that officials from the Bekasi City District Attorney’s Office colluded to manipulate the articles applied in the Dispora case by only naming three suspects: the Head of Dispora AZ, the retired Head of the Dispora Division MAR, and the Director of PT CIA.

“The Bekasi City District Attorney’s Office ignored the Main Commissioner of PT CIA, the goods owner TUW, and several members of the Bekasi City Regional Council (DPRD) as project owners through the Main Ideas or Pokir mechanism,” said the Chairman of the YAMSI Advisory Council in a statement.

YAMSI revealed suspicions of intensive communication and lobbying between TUW and the suspect, Head of the Agency AZ, both at home and at TUW’s office, as well as other places in Bekasi City, allegedly aimed at smoothing the problematic project.

It was stated that TUW and several DPRD members have been examined by the Bekasi District Attorney’s Office. However, there are still other parties who have not been examined, such as AF who participated in meetings with suspect AZ and was accompanied by ON who had met with TUW.

YAMSI urged the Attorney General’s Office to examine the Head of the Bekasi City District Attorney’s Office and its staff, as they are suspected of having diverted the articles in the case. They demanded that TUW and the involved DPRD members be immediately named as suspects.

“Resolve this case down to its roots, so it aligns with the directive from the President at the Indonesian House of Representatives session on August 16, 2025, concerning the eradication of corruption,” the statement emphasized.

As known, the case originated from findings by the West Java Representative Audit Board (BPK), which discovered an overpayment of IDR 4.7 billion in the Bekasi City Dispora project for the 2023 fiscal year. The BPK has requested the Bekasi Mayor return the funds to the regional treasury.
