The Indonesian Madrasah National Vanguard (PGMNI) is urging the government to provide a quota for private madrasah teachers to become Government Employees with Work Agreements (PPPK).

The Chairman of PGMNI KBB stated that the organization continues to oversee and fight for the aspirations of private madrasah teachers to be given the opportunity to participate in the PPPK selection process.

“This struggle is a form of collective effort to bring about justice and state recognition for the dedication of private madrasah teachers, who have contributed greatly to the world of education,” he said.

He added that many madrasah teachers in West Bandung Regency currently receive very small honorariums. This should be a consideration for prioritizing private madrasah teachers.

“In terms of welfare, the condition of private madrasah teachers is still very concerning and varies. Teachers who have obtained ‘inpassing’ certification receive an average income below 3 million Rupiah per month, while those without it receive only around 2 million,” he explained.

“Furthermore, many private madrasah teachers, especially those at Raudhatul Athfal (RA) early childhood education levels, receive honorariums of only around 500 thousand Rupiah, and some even as low as 150 thousand per month,” he continued.

He emphasized that this condition is far from adequate when compared to the responsibility and strategic role of private madrasah teachers in educating the nation’s generation.

“In KBB, many private madrasah teachers have dedicated themselves for over 20 years. Considering their length of service and work experience, these teachers deserve priority to participate in the PPPK program,” he stated.

He hopes the government will pay attention to the situation of private madrasah teachers. The struggle of private madrasah teachers across Indonesia plays a crucial role in national education.

“Moreover, reassignment to their original madrasahs is also a major hope, to ensure the educational process continues optimally without breaking the decades-long bonds of dedication that have been built,” he concluded.
