The Bandung City Government through the Transportation Department is preparing free transportation services to support Bandung Great Sale (BGS) 2025. For seven full days, from September 1 to September 7, 2025, Bandung residents and out-of-town tourists can use Trans Metro Pasundan (TMP) buses and Bandung Tour On Bus (Bandros) without charge.

The Head of the Transportation Department explained that BGS is a major agenda initiated by the Bandung City Trade and Industry Department, with full support from various regional apparatus organizations, including the Transportation Department in providing public transportation facilities.

“Bandung Great Sale is a shopping tourism attraction. To support the smooth mobility of the community, we are making all TMP and Bandros services free for one week,” he stated regarding this policy in Gedebage, Bandung City.

He further explained that the Transportation Department operates 28 TMP fleets serving five main corridors: Corridor 1 Cibiru-Cibereum, Corridor 2 Cicaheum-Cibereum, Corridor 3 Cicaheum-Sarijadi, Corridor 4 Antapani-Leuwipanjang, and Corridor 5 Antapani-Stasiun Hall. This service is supplemented by two feeder routes: Gunung Batu-Stasiun Hall and Summarecon-Cibereum. All buses operate daily from 05:30 to 16:00 Western Indonesia Time.

“All TMP fleets are ready to be used to ensure community comfort and accessibility,” he said.

In addition to TMP, according to him, the Transportation Department is also preparing 10 Bandros units operating from 08:00 to 16:00 Western Indonesia Time with two departure points: Bandung Alun-Alun and the Diponegoro Street area around the Geology Museum.

He added that the Bandros route from Alun-Alun passes through Asia Afrika Street, Braga, Wastukencana, Djuanda, Dipatiukur, Riau, Lembong, Naripan, and returns to the starting point. Meanwhile, the Bandros route from Diponegoro goes through Supratman Street, Riau, Aceh, and Citarum before returning to Diponegoro.

Bandung Metropolitan Police Tighten Operations Against Loud Exhausts, Directly Support KDM's Policy

Efforts to eradicate loud exhausts in Bandung City will be intensified. The Bandung Metropolitan Police ensure that enforcement against motorcyclists with noisy exhausts will be carried out more massively after the West Java Governor issued a circular prohibiting the sale and use of non-standard exhausts throughout the West Java region.

The Bandung Metropolitan Police Chief emphasized that support for the provincial-level policy is a strong impetus for the police to increase the intensity of raids.

“We have been routinely taking action, both during the day and at night. With the governor’s policy, we are getting new ammunition to eradicate loud exhausts,” he stated.

He added that enforcement will target all vulnerable points of violation in Bandung City. Raids will not only be conducted at certain hours but will be held throughout the day to ensure there is no room for violators of the rules. According to him, the presence of loud exhausts has so far caused public unrest and disrupted traffic order.

The West Java Governor’s policy strengthens the steps of the authorities. Through an official circular, the Governor prohibits the use and sale of loud exhausts or exhausts that do not comply with manufacturer standards. This instruction is applied down to the village, sub-district, neighborhood, and community levels to ensure comprehensive implementation of the rules.

The Governor considers the loud noise from exhausts not only damages public comfort but also contradicts the principles of safety and traffic order.

“Every vehicle has its own exhaust standard. Changing these specifications means violating traffic management principles and disturbing the comfort of road users,” he said.
