In Surat, hard work, confidence, and strong determination make every difficult path easier. The story of Naveen Sharma, a resident of Mini Bazaar in Varachha, exemplifies this belief. Originally a permanent resident of Nepal, Naveen Sharma came to Surat, faced struggles, and through his hard work, established himself as a successful businessman and social worker.

After arriving in Surat in 1997, Naveen Sharma first started working at J.D. Restaurant in Mini Bazaar. After working there for about six months, he left the job due to disagreements with management. Later, he worked at a hotel near Surat Railway Station. During this time, he also continued pursuing his childhood passion for karate.

His dedication to karate led him to great heights in the field. He had been practicing karate since 1995 and earned a black belt in 1998. Today, he holds a fifth-degree black belt and is actively involved as a karate official in Gujarat State. He has received certifications from Ashihara International, Sitoria, and Husukonfu institutions, along with diplomas in kickboxing and karate. He also holds a karate degree from Dharam Balsara.

Alongside his karate career, he started his first fast-food stall in 2000 under the name ‘New Pashupatinath Restaurant,’ located near Sai Baba Temple in Shri Sai Srishti Society, Parvat Patiya. The popularity of his delicious and high-quality food grew rapidly, leading him to expand his business with four more stalls: near Three Road Garden, opposite Nine Gate (near Bhavani Gate), Mansarovar Gate area in Model Town, Neminath Society, and near Super Cinema. Today, ‘New Pashupatinath Restaurant’ is known for Punjabi, Chinese, South Indian, and fast food dishes and has become the first choice for Surat residents.

He mentioned that they also provide catering services for weddings and events under the name ‘New Pashupatinath Restaurant Caterers.’

Naveen Sharma not only became self-reliant but also provided employment to around 70 people through his business. He continues to conduct karate classes in various areas of Surat, teaching self-defense to youth. He is also actively involved in social work, always ready to help those in need and participating in various social activities.

Today, Naveen Sharma lives a happy family life with his wife and five children (four daughters and one son). All his children are pursuing education. He credits his success to his elder brother Prem Sharma and NCP leader Narayanbhai Gadhera, who guided and supported him at every step.

Naveen Sharma’s story is not just an example of hard work and self-belief but also teaches that with strong determination and the right direction, anyone can rise from nothing to great heights.
