Canal Walkers

Canal Walkers are a type of traditional transport worker found in historic canal systems, particularly in regions like the UK and China, where they pulled or guided barges along waterways. Emerging during the Industrial Revolution, these workers played a vital role in moving goods before the rise of railways, often enduring harsh conditions. Today, their legacy is preserved in canal heritage sites and festivals, celebrating the engineering and labor that shaped early industrial trade.
