To effectively respond to potential food safety emergencies and test the rapid response, emergency command, coordination, and efficient handling capabilities of the city’s market supervision system, an emergency drill for food safety incidents in the food production and operation sector was organized.
This drill simulated a food safety emergency incident occurring in the Jiangbei District. Some consumers in both Sichuan and Chongqing purchased and consumed specific batches of food produced by an enterprise in Jiangbei District from food stalls and supermarkets, subsequently developing suspected foodborne illness symptoms, which triggered significant public concern.
After the incident occurred, market supervision departments at both municipal and district levels actively coordinated. Under the specific leadership of the Jiangbei District Emergency Command Center, they activated emergency response mechanisms and quickly completed the investigation and handling of the incident.

The drill site recreated the entire process from incident reporting, public opinion analysis, on-site investigation, product traceability, medical treatment, testing and inspection, expert consultation, information release, to product recall and administrative penalties. Law enforcement personnel quickly mobilized and began investigations; the on-site command center operated efficiently, coordinating the division of labor and collaboration among various teams; internet information departments tracked public opinion in real-time, promptly released authoritative information, and effectively suppressed false rumors; disease control and inspection agencies conducted scientific sampling and rapid testing, providing key evidence for determining the nature of the incident.

The entire drill closely followed “real-world” requirements, strictly adhering to relevant regulations, and sequentially set up multiple stages including incident response, plan activation, escalation, response conclusion, and review and improvement. Participants conducted comprehensive and in-depth simulation exercises and practical operations focusing on key steps such as verifying report information, tracing problematic products, on-site investigation and handling, product sampling and testing, coordinating medical treatment, and information release.
During the drill, departments at all levels and the on-site command center had clear responsibilities, close coordination, and rapid action. Starting from receiving simulated reports, information flowed smoothly, command decisions were scientific and decisive, investigation and handling were precise and efficient, and all simulated control measures were properly implemented
