The Tangerang Regency Environmental Agency has spoken out regarding the incident of a garbage truck hitting and killing a female student in Sepatan.
“We are deeply saddened by this incident. However, I must clarify that the person driving at the time of the incident was the truck assistant, not the assigned driver, because the driver was sick and the assistant was driving instead,”
This statement has raised major questions regarding the agency’s operational procedures and internal oversight.
How could an assistant take over the wheel of a government vehicle that should only be driven by certified personnel?
According to gathered information, the truck was traveling from Sepatan towards Mauk when the incident occurred. The victim, a female student with the initials ZAZ, died at the scene due to severe injuries.
The police are currently investigating this case. The original driver and the assistant have been secured for further questioning.
“In terms of driving skill, the assistant was actually accustomed to driving trucks, meaning it wasn’t a sudden decision to become the driver. It happened because the driver was unexpectedly ill,”
It was previously reported that the fatal accident occurred in front of Sepatan City Park, involving a Tangerang Regency Environmental Agency truck, police number A-8671-V, driven by AG, and a Piaggio motorcycle, license plate B-5361-BNJ, ridden by female student ZAA.
“The motorcycle was traveling from Sepatan towards Mauk. While overtaking the truck from the left side via a dirt path and attempting to return to the concrete road, its front wheel slipped, causing the rider to lose control. The motorcycle then fell to the right, resulting in the victim being run over by the truck’s rear tire,”
