A total of 278 tons of rice from the Food Supply and Price Stabilization (SPHP) program has been distributed to the community.

The program was enthusiastically welcomed by the community amidst rising rice prices in the market.

The Cimahi Police Chief explained that the affordable rice is planned to be distributed directly by each local police sector.

“We will provide 278 tons of SPHP rice for the community at a low price. It will be distributed through the local police sectors,” he said.

He added that so far, at least 6 tons have been distributed to the community through activities at the Cimahi Police Headquarters over the past week.

“We provide packages of 5 kilograms of rice, priced at Rp 10,000 per kilogram. Usually, such a package would cost Rp 55,000, but now we sell it for Rp 50,000,” he said.

Furthermore, he stated that this activity is carried out to help people in need of affordable rice amidst the current weak economic conditions.

“We target completion within 3 months. The quota at the Police Station is 20 tons; we have distributed 6 tons, so 14 tons remain,” he said.

He emphasized that they are also vigilant about the circulation of blended rice with non-standard measurements and quality. One effort includes forming a special task force.

“We have formed a Task Force to monitor the circulation of rice that does not meet standard measurements. We will report if any violations are found,” he stated.
