Bandung –
The Bandung city government raided a disco in the Ciumbuleuit area on Tuesday night (26/8). The nightlife venue dared to hold an event titled ‘Foam Party’ which drew criticism.
The raid was led directly by the Deputy Mayor of Bandung. He explained that the disco had obtained an entertainment permit.
“Regarding Brotherhood Bunker, it has a club license, a restaurant license, and a music license. We also checked the drinks sold there. We checked, they have permits, they have customs duties. If they didn’t, we would have definitely seized them yesterday. But we couldn’t seize anything because they do have all the permits,” he said on Wednesday (27/8/2025).
From the preliminary inspection results, the Foam Party event at the disco was apparently organized by an event organizer (EO). This EO had contracted to hold the party which then drew criticism.
“Then, after being inspected by the Civil Service Police Unit (Satpol PP), the decision will be made by Satpol PP, because all legal matters are referred to them,” he said.
As a follow-up action, the Bandung city government issued a warning sanction to the disco. The management only had to make a written statement not to repeat the criticized agenda.
“That has also been the case for a long time. So I decided that the management would make a written statement that they would not repeat such a thing again, even with an EO,” he said.
“God willing, they will not be like that again in the future, they have made a statement. The point is that for us it is not about punishment. This is about upholding, as I said earlier, integrity. Because I do not want Bandung’s image to be tarnished by negative things,” he concluded.
