Chairperson of KORMI Banten, Nuraeni.
SERANG – The 2026 Banten Provincial Community Sports Festival (Forprov) will officially be held in Tangerang City. This community sports event, held every two years, is scheduled to take place at the end of the year, specifically between November or December 2026.
The Chairperson of the Indonesian Community Sports Committee (KORMI) for Banten, Nuraeni, stated that Forprov is one of KORMI Banten’s priority agendas this year. Currently, the committee is in the preparation refinement stage to ensure the event runs smoothly.
Not Just About Being Overall Champion
Nuraeni emphasized that the selection of Tangerang City as the host was not based on their achievement as overall champions at Forprov 2024 in Pantai Anyer, Serang Regency. This decision was made more due to the region’s readiness, which is considered highly capable in supporting the event’s organization.
“It’s not because they were the overall champions at Forprov in Serang Regency in 2024, but rather due to the readiness of KORMI and the local government,” said Nuraeni while giving a statement in Serang City.
According to her, the Tangerang City Government has expressed its readiness to be a good host. This readiness includes the availability of competition venues, support from community enthusiasm, and adequate supporting infrastructure.
Nuraeni added that Tangerang City has excellent sports facilities that greatly support the various community sports branches that will be contested. “The venues in Tangerang City are very numerous,” she added.
Target for Broad Participation
For information, this event is predicted to be lively with participation from around 55 Main Sports Organizations (Inorga) that will take part in the upcoming 2026 Banten Forprov event.
