Jakarta

The Governor of Jakarta announced that the Jakarta Provincial Government will soon open job vacancies for firefighter positions. He also allowed residents from outside Jakarta to apply for these positions.

“This is part of being an open city, where people hope to build their careers in Jakarta. Therefore, I will maintain an open recruitment process, even though it may become a burden for the city,” said Pramono at the Jakarta DPRD Building.

Pramono explained that the open recruitment for non-Jakarta residents to apply as firefighters follows the same process as the recruitment for public infrastructure and facilities personnel (PPSU). He noted that many applicants with IDs from outside Jakarta registered for PPSU positions, though Jakarta residents remain the priority for selection.

Pramono acknowledged that this phenomenon is driven by the high demand for jobs.

“I must admit that whenever job vacancies are opened, many applicants register, and most are not Jakarta residents, as seen from their IDs,” he said.

“This also applies to the upcoming firefighter recruitment. The vacancies will follow the PPSU recruitment,” he added.

The Jakarta Provincial Government is opening 1,000 job vacancies for firefighter positions. Governor Pramono Anung stated that the recruitment process will begin mid-year and continue until early next year.

“Officially, the Jakarta Government, through the Governor, has decided to allocate a quota for firefighter recruitment. We are providing a quota of 1,000 firefighters, and it will open mid-year,” said Pramono in Kebon Jeruk, West Jakarta.

Pramono mentioned that the recruitment process will be fully managed by the Jakarta Fire Department. Unlike the PPSU recruitment conducted at City Hall, the firefighter selection will take place at fire department offices across Jakarta.
