Simple changes in the kitchen can make a big contribution to reducing emissions. This is the key message conveyed during the Electrifying Lifestyle Vaganza event, organized in collaboration with women’s organizations across Banten Province.
Through a corn-based cooking competition held in Banten, participants were introduced to induction stoves as a clean, cost-effective, and safe alternative to conventional gas stoves.
One attendee shared her experience, noting that cooking with an induction stove was faster and kept the kitchen cleaner.
“I personally found that cooking with an induction stove is quicker, safer, and more efficient. The kitchen stays clean and comfortable. This is a smart choice for families in Banten—clean, economical, and environmentally friendly energy,” she said.
Another speaker emphasized that lifestyle changes should start at home, with women playing a crucial role in driving the transition to clean energy.
“We believe women are agents of change. From the kitchen, we can adopt clean energy and a thrifty lifestyle. Through this event, we hope to inspire more families in Banten to embrace an electrifying lifestyle—not just for convenience, but for a healthier and more sustainable future,” she added.
Beyond cooking, the event also highlighted the importance of food security and stunting prevention, aligning with sustainable development goals. The participation of attendees also demonstrated support for the Net Zero Emission mission by 2060.
A local official praised the initiative, stating that it aligns with government efforts to promote environmentally friendly energy use in communities.
