IMPHAL, Flight operations at Imphal Airport in Manipur were temporarily suspended after a drone was spotted, officials reported. They stated that an IndiGo flight arriving from Agartala observed the drone at approximately 2 PM while on its final approach path toward the city, at an altitude between 3,600 and 4,000 feet.

Officials said on Monday that flight operations at the airport were temporarily suspended as a precautionary safety measure, which were later restored. Regarding this matter, an official stated that normal operations resumed only after receiving necessary security clearance from the state police.

Airport authorities issued a statement urging people not to fly drones in Imphal city and surrounding areas, including Nambol and Bishnupur. The statement said that unauthorized drone operations pose a serious threat to aircraft safety. Any violation of drone operation rules will invite strict legal action according to relevant provisions.
