List of polling agents demanded for Jubilee Hills by-election.
Hyderabad: Under the pre-election procedures for the Jubilee Hills by-election, the Hyderabad District Election Officer and GHMC Commissioner requested political party representatives to submit objections regarding the rationalization of polling centers by August 26. Parties were also asked to submit lists of booth agents.
The District Election Officer discussed the ongoing special summary revision process in Jubilee Hills with representatives of national and state-level political parties at the GHMC headquarters. Detailed information was provided regarding the rationalization of polling centers. It was stated that previously there were 329 polling centers, with a proposal to establish 79 new ones, bringing the total to 408. Previously, polling centers were set up at 132 locations, and now 139 locations have been proposed. The rationalization report is to be submitted to the Election Commission by August 28. The Commissioner mentioned that Booth Level Officers (BLOs) are available for all 329 polling centers in the Jubilee Hills Assembly constituency.
Booth Agent List and Voter Registration Update
So far, only a few political parties have submitted lists of booth-level agents. The remaining parties have been requested to submit their lists promptly. It was stated that Booth Level Officers will soon be appointed for the 79 newly established polling centers. The Commissioner reported that from January 6 to August 15, a total of 19,237 voter registration applications were received, of which 3,767 were rejected and 16 are pending.
It was further detailed that out of 5,426 applications received via Form 6, 1,478 were rejected; out of 3,453 applications received via Form 7, 1,010 were rejected and 12 are pending; and out of 10,358 applications received via Form 8, 1,279 were rejected. The meeting was attended by the Zonal Commissioner of L.B. Nagar, the Additional Election Commissioner, and other officials.
Representatives from various political parties participated in the meeting.
