Professor, Doctor Nguyen Vu Quoc Huy, Acting Director of Hue University, stated that Hue University needs to promote its role as a center for training, research, and knowledge transfer, participating in solving socio-economic and science-technology development challenges of Hue City, the Central Highlands region, and the whole country.

The above content was emphasized by Mr. Huy in an open letter sent to staff, lecturers, workers, and students of Hue University after being appointed as Acting Director of Hue University.

According to Mr. Huy, Hue University is facing new development opportunities as Hue City becomes a centrally-governed city, and the Party and State have established the policy to build Hue University into a National University.

On that basis, Hue University aims to become a National University by 2030, in accordance with resolutions and conclusions of the Central Committee and the Government.

The Acting Director of Hue University stated that in the coming period, the institution will focus on implementing the “A-B-C-D” development model, which includes: Academic Excellence, Better Governance, Community Prestige, and Digital Transformation, Innovation and Discovery.

Mr. Huy also emphasized the need to continue reforming university governance, promoting decentralization, delegation of authority, and autonomy for member units; leveraging the combined strength of the entire Hue University with the view that “strong units make Hue University stable.”

According to the Acting Director of Hue University, improving the quality of training, scientific research, and community service not only aims to realize the goal of becoming a National University by 2030 but also contributes to affirming Hue University’s role as a knowledge driver for the development of Hue City and the Central Highlands region.
