The Arab Football Federation Council will hold its 79th meeting tomorrow, Monday, in the Saudi capital, Riyadh, chaired by His Royal Highness Prince Abdulaziz bin Turki Al-Faisal. The meeting will address a number of topics on the agenda.

The Council will review the requests submitted by member Arab federations to host Arab Federation competitions for the 2026 season. Hosting agreements will be signed on the sidelines of the General Assembly meetings, as the Arab Federation Council had previously approved the calendar for club and national team competitions for the 2026, 2027, 2028, and 2029 seasons during its meeting held in late May.

Arab Football Federation

The Arab Football Federation (UAFA) was founded in 1974 in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, to develop and promote football across the Arab world. It is best known for organizing major regional tournaments, most notably the FIFA Arab Cup and the Arab Club Champions Cup, which feature national and club teams from its 22 member associations.

Riyadh

Riyadh is the capital and largest city of Saudi Arabia, serving as the nation’s political and administrative center. Historically a walled oasis town and a significant trading hub, it was captured in 1902 by Abdulaziz Ibn Saud and became the capital of the modern Saudi state following its unification. The city has since undergone immense modernization, transforming into a bustling metropolis that is a major financial hub for the region.
