The General Authority for Statistics revealed in its report the Umrah statistics for the first quarter of 2025, which indicated that the total number of Umrah pilgrims reached 15,222,497. Saudis constituted 24% of this total, while males accounted for 60.5% compared to 39.5% for females.

The results of the report showed that the number of pilgrims arriving from abroad reached 6,523,630, an increase of 10.7% compared to the first quarter of 2024. Most of them arrived through air ports, accounting for 82.2%, while the number of domestic pilgrims was 8,698,867, with non-Saudis making up 58% of them.

In the same context, January 2025 recorded the highest number of foreign pilgrims, accounting for 36.5% of the total, while March was the lowest. Conversely, March saw the highest percentage of domestic pilgrims at 80.9%, while January was the lowest.

The results of the report also showed that the total number of visitors to Medina reached 6,452,696 during the first quarter of 2025, of which 4,412,689 were visitors from abroad.

It is worth noting that Umrah and Medina visit statistics are issued quarterly starting from 2024, presenting the numbers and percentages of pilgrims and visitors from within and outside the country based on field surveys and registry data from the Guests of the Most Merciful Service Program and the Ministry of Tourism, in addition to approved statistical models.
