The Saudi Olympic and Paralympic Committee is participating in the third Asian Youth Games, hosted by the Bahraini capital Manama from October 22-31, alongside all Asian countries.
The Kingdom is represented in the games by 215 male and female athletes competing in 21 sports: swimming, athletics, wrestling, 3×3 basketball, boxing, camel racing, cycling, equestrian, esports, futsal, golf, handball, jujitsu, judo, mixed martial arts, Muay Thai, table tennis, taekwondo, triathlon, volleyball, and weightlifting.
Participation in these games is significant as they serve as a qualifying event for the fourth Summer Youth Olympic Games “Dakar 2026”. The Asian Games are being held after a 12-year hiatus, specifically since the last edition of the second Asian Youth Games held in 2013 in Nanjing, China.
The Saudi Olympic and Paralympic Committee is organizing a training camp for the Saudi team at several different locations in the Eastern Region, most notably Al-Qadsiah Club, the Ministry of Sports Hall in Dammam, Prince Naif Sports City in Qatif, and Youth Hostels.

Al-Qadsiah Club

Al-Qadsiah Club is a major multi-sport club based in the city of Al-Khubar, Saudi Arabia. It was founded in 1967 and is named after the historic Battle of al-Qadisiyyah, a significant 7th-century Muslim victory. The club is renowned for its successful football team and has a large, passionate fan base.

Ministry of Sports Hall in Dammam

The Ministry of Sports Hall in Dammam is a major indoor arena primarily used for sporting events, concerts, and large-scale exhibitions. It was established as part of the Kingdom’s broader initiative to develop modern sports infrastructure and promote a culture of health and fitness. The hall serves as a key venue in the Eastern Province, hosting everything from regional basketball tournaments to international cultural gatherings.

Prince Naif Sports City in Qatif

Prince Naif Sports City is a major multi-purpose sports complex located in the Qatif region of Saudi Arabia’s Eastern Province. Named after the late Prince Naif bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, it was established to serve as a central hub for athletic events and community activities in the area. The complex features modern facilities for football, athletics, and other sports, playing a key role in promoting sports culture within the local community.

Youth Hostels

Youth hostels are budget-oriented accommodations that originated in Germany in the early 20th century, founded by Richard Schirrmann. The concept was designed to provide safe, simple lodging to promote travel and cultural exchange among young people. Today, they have evolved into a global network offering affordable stays for travelers of all ages.
