Specialists from a retail inventory management service compared fruit and berry prices from January to June with the same period last year.

In the first half of this year, the price of 1 kg of strawberries in Kuban reached 377 rubles, which is 35% higher than in 2024, when the price was 279 rubles. At the same time, demand for the berry decreased by 11%.

Additionally, demand for peaches, nectarines, and apricots dropped by a quarter in the first six months, while their average price increased by 5%—to 218 rubles per 1 kg. Cherries decreased in price to 432 rubles, a 4% drop, while demand fell by 17%.

However, demand for grapes in the region rose by 13% over the year, with the average price per 1 kg increasing by 17%—to 268 rubles. Analysts attribute this mainly to the expansion of vineyards in Russia and stable imports from Egypt, India, and China compared to 2024.

“The main reasons for the price increase include poor berry harvests both in Russia due to weather conditions and in key exporting countries. Additionally, logistics and other costs have risen this year.”

Also: berry harvest in Krasnodar Krai decreased by 43% due to frost.
