The incident was reported on the morning of October 25.
During a meeting of the operational headquarters regarding assistance to residents of the apartment building at Timiryazeva 30/3, it was reported that an inspection established that residents received ownership of apartments in this building in 2012 by a court decision.
“The main priority at the moment is to provide shelter for the residents of the affected apartments. Immediately after receiving the alert about the incident, temporary accommodation points and transport were prepared. Currently, 28 residents of the building, including seven children, have been relocated there,” the official stated.
A local state of emergency is currently in effect at the scene. A door-to-door survey is ongoing.
“The primary task is to provide all necessary assistance to the people now. Next, the condition of the building will be determined. Based on this, a decision regarding its further use will be made,” the official said.
Emergency services are conducting investigative actions. An instrumental examination of the building’s structures is planned next.
A domestic gas explosion occurred during the night of October 25 in a fourth-floor apartment of the multi-story building at Timiryazeva Street 30/3. Walls were destroyed and the windows of three apartments were damaged. Seventy people were evacuated from the building. According to preliminary information, a 75-year-old man died. Three other people were hospitalized with injuries. The condition of two individuals—a 38-year-old woman and a man aged 45-50—is assessed as serious. A 36-year-old man suffered a bruised thigh and was also hospitalized.
A criminal case for causing death by negligence has been initiated.
