The center will begin operations next year. It is already more than halfway complete. Currently, facade work, electrical and ventilation installation, and interior finishing are underway.
Russia’s first paradiver suffered a cervical spine fracture and traumatic brain injury, resulting in complete body paralysis. However, intensive training under medical supervision and strong willpower are helping the athlete regain the ability to walk.
“Rehabilitation is comprehensive work. It involves both the patient and a team of professionals,” shares the patient.
The patient is currently recovering at Clinical Hospital No. 1, where each person receives individualized care. The hospital treats people not only after injuries but also those with chronic and hereditary conditions. Rehabilitation centers are equipped with modern equipment that facilitates high-quality recovery therapy.
“This machine provides rehabilitation for patients after strokes or with spinal cord and brain injuries. The mobile trainer can be wheeled to the patient’s bedside. It works both with and without the patient’s effort, allowing for early rehabilitation,” reports a correspondent.
The comprehensive treatment approach makes diagnosis and therapy more effective. One of the main current goals is to create a unified rehabilitation system in the region that will help patients recover from musculoskeletal injuries and peripheral nervous system disorders.
To enable more patients to receive quality treatment, a new 180-bed building is under construction at Clinical Hospital No. 1. It will include urological rehabilitation departments, physical therapy rooms, therapeutic exercise and massage facilities, hydrotherapy, manual therapy, and more. The building was previously used for functional surgery. The ultimate goal is to create a unified rehabilitation system.
“This will allow comprehensive treatment of various diseases using modern equipment and individualized rehabilitation programs. Importantly, the center will also be able to provide recovery for military personnel with musculoskeletal injuries and peripheral nervous system disorders,” wrote an acting deputy governor.
The medical rehabilitation center is needed for inpatient recovery of people with nervous and musculoskeletal system disorders, as well as patients from traumatology, orthopedics, cardiology, and urology. More than half of the construction work has already been completed. The building is scheduled for completion in July 2026. Additionally, a regional rehabilitation center is set to open next year in Dinskaya stanitsa, which will become the largest facility of its kind.
