Pinoy Big Brother Gen 11 winner Fyang Smith and former housemate JM Ibarra shine in their first-ever iWant Original digital series, Ghosting, featuring the most talked-about love story of the year, exclusively premiering last Saturday (July 19) at 8 p.m. (PHT).

The eight-episode Ghosting follows the story of a young student, Jaja (Fyang), who decides to move to the province. In an unexpected turn of events, she falls in love with a mysterious provincial man, Wilberto (JM), who turns out to be a literal ghost.

The teasers and official trailer have already surpassed 30 million views on social media and YouTube, a week before the series’ official release.

Netizens are loving the undeniable chemistry between Fyang and JM, despite them being newcomers to showbiz after their stint as Pinoy Big Brother Gen 11 housemates.

Ghosting is one of the first digital series under the revamped iWant platform, showcasing its fresh look and expanded selection of highly anticipated shows from television, film, and online series.

The cast also includes Kobie Brown (PBB Connect), Vivoree (PBB Lucky 7), Zach Guerrero (PBB Kumunity), Kapamilya singer Gello Marquez, and veteran actresses Peewee O’Hara and Ces Quesada.

Directed by Ted Boborol, known for blockbuster films like Vince, Kath, & James, James & Pat & Dave, and Finally Found Someone, Ghosting tells a story of second chances and a love that transcends life and death.

How do they feel about the massive trailer views even before the series premiered?

“Of course, we’re happy and overwhelmed that so many are excited for our first-ever series. I’m sure they’ll love it even more once the actual episodes of Ghosting come out,” Fyang shared during the recent press launch.

Was it challenging for them to adjust to making a series?

“I didn’t know how to deliver my lines properly since this is my first serious onscreen role. There was pressure because before this, I had a comedic role in Puntong Laguna. So, I had to let that go to properly deliver my script,” explained Fyang, whose rapid rise after PBB has also attracted bashers—though she remains unfazed.

She admitted she didn’t fully relate to her character since she’s never experienced ghosting. “If anything, maybe in personality—yes. Jaja is very jolly, playful, loving, family-oriented, and a lola’s girl. Since I was also raised by my grandmother, I connected with that part,” said Fyang.

“Director Ted guided me on how to deliver my scenes—whether they wanted it funny or not. I didn’t know—did you laugh?” she joked.

She added, “You’ll feel everything—you’ll cry, laugh, get kilig. Maybe some will even get depressed because there are truly emotional moments. It’s a roller coaster, and you’ll experience all of that. You’ll enjoy Ghosting,” shared the recent PBB winner.

The media conference at Gateway Mall 2 drew massive crowds, proving their millions of views also translate to a strong fanbase.

Both Fyang and JM expressed gratitude. “Of course, thank you so much for your time and support. We really appreciate it,” said JM, who admitted struggling with their kissing scene.
