Amid concerns about deteriorating Japan-China relations, Gifu Prefecture has launched an investigation into potential impacts on tourism and business activities.
“Since this is a diplomatic issue, we hope for recovery as quickly as possible.”
The governor of Gifu Prefecture revealed that he has instructed relevant departments to investigate the impact of the Chinese government’s travel advisory to Japan.
Last year’s total number of foreign overnight stays in Gifu Prefecture showed China had the highest numbers by country or region, exceeding 215,000 people.
The governor stated they will carefully monitor trends in tourism and business activities, and if impacts emerge, they will consider necessary responses.
