Drunk driver, 23, claiming to be a delivery worker, arrested after causing accident and injuring 23-year-old female civil servant in Toyohashi City, Aichi.

A 23-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of causing an accident while driving under the influence of alcohol and injuring a woman.

The suspect, Rikuto Nakaoka, 23, who identifies as a delivery worker from Toyohashi City, Aichi Prefecture, was taken into custody.

It is alleged that yesterday around 9 p.m., Nakaoka drove a light van while intoxicated and collided head-on with a passenger car at an intersection in Minamieicho, Toyohashi City, causing a 23-year-old female civil servant to suffer a scratch on her head.

Nakaoka also sustained a broken leg in the accident. During police questioning, he reportedly admitted to the allegations, stating, “That is correct.”
