The Tangerang Regency Government plans to hold a Postgraduate Scholarship Program for residents in its area.

The Regional Secretary of Tangerang Regency stated that the ongoing Tangerang Gemilang Scholarship Program currently covers the Bachelor’s level at 33 universities. This year, a quota is provided for 679 students.

“We realize the government must be present not only at the kindergarten, elementary, and junior high school levels, but we go further in how we create new graduates in poor families,” he said.

In the future, the Tangerang Gemilang Scholarship Program will be extended to the Doctoral level.

“As mentioned earlier in the speech, there is an idea of why not create up to Master’s and Doctoral levels. God willing, we will first develop this plan. It is very possible for us to do,” he said.

Not only that, the Tangerang Regency Government will add scholarship options for studying abroad.

“God willing, we will also send students abroad, such as to Egypt, and maybe next year, God willing, to China,” he said.

He added that the Tangerang Gemilang Scholarship Program will continue for years to come. According to him, education is key to alleviating poverty issues in Tangerang Regency.

“This is an idea that must keep rolling, because once again, there is no instant way to eliminate poverty other than through education,” he concluded.
