Tangerang City to Host the 2026 Banten Provincial Sports Festival, Final Preparations Underway.
Head of KORMI Banten, Nuraeni.
SERANG – The Provincial Community Sports Festival (Forprov) Banten 2026 will officially be held in Tangerang City. This community sports event, held every two years, is scheduled to take place at the end of the year, specifically in November or December 2026.
The head of the Indonesian Community Sports Committee (KORMI) Banten, Nuraeni, stated that Forprov is one of KORMI Banten’s priority agendas this year. Currently, the committee is in the preparation stage to ensure the event runs smoothly.
Not Just About Being Overall Champion
Nuraeni emphasized that choosing Tangerang City as the host was not based on their achievement as overall champion at Forprov 2024 in Pantai Anyer, Serang Regency. This decision was made more due to the region’s readiness and capability in supporting the event’s organization.
“It’s not because they were overall champions at Forprov in Serang Regency in 2024, but more due to the readiness of KORMI and the local government,” said Nuraeni while providing a statement in Serang City.
According to her, the Tangerang City government has expressed its readiness to be a good host. This readiness includes the availability of competition venues, enthusiastic community support, and adequate supporting infrastructure.
Nuraeni added that Tangerang City has excellent sports facilities that support various community sports branches to be competed. “There are many venues in Tangerang City,” she added.
Targeting Broad Participation
As information, this event is predicted to be lively with participation from around 55 Parent Sports Organizations (Inorga) that will take part in the upcoming Forprov Banten 2026 event.
