The Metro Tangerang City Police Traffic Unit successfully apprehended a man with the initials NW, 35, who was found carrying a large quantity of narcotics, including methamphetamine and ecstasy.
The arrest took place on Thursday, August 7, 2025, at around 11:30 AM local time near TMP Taruna Road in the Suka Asih neighborhood, Tangerang District, Tangerang City.
The Metro Tangerang City Police Chief stated that the arrest began when traffic officers were conducting routine traffic control duties.
Officers then stopped a Honda Vario rider with license plate B-5347-BDW passing through the area.
“During the inspection, officers found 0.27 grams of methamphetamine and one ecstasy pill in the suspect’s sling bag,” explained the Police Chief on Wednesday, August 13, 2025.
Further inspection of the suspect’s motorcycle revealed a coffee plastic package containing 44.83 grams of methamphetamine and 100 ecstasy pills weighing 36.07 grams in total. The evidence was hidden under the seat.
Additionally, officers seized another coffee plastic package containing drug paraphernalia, IDR 1.2 million in cash, three mobile phones of various brands, and one motorcycle.
The Metro Tangerang City Police Narcotics Unit confirmed that they are still investigating the case.
“The suspect is charged under Article 114 Paragraph (2) in conjunction with Article 112 Paragraph (2) of Law No. 35 of 2009 on Narcotics, which carries a maximum penalty of life imprisonment or the death penalty,” the officer emphasized.
