TANGERANG – The leadership of PC GP Ansor Tangerang City finally breathed a sigh of relief after the Metro Tangerang City Police Department named three suspects in the assault case committed by the bodyguards of Habib Bahar Bin Smit (HBS) during the Prophet Muhammad’s Mawlid event in Poris Plawad, Cipondoh District, Tangerang City.

The three suspects, with initials AES, DNC and MA, are HBS’s bodyguards. The suspect designation was based on the investigation results report received by us as representatives of the victim’s side, which was shown by investigators from the Metro Tangerang City Police Department to the PC GP Ansor Tangerang City leadership and the Legal Aid Institute coordinator when questioning the assault case two weeks ago.

“Thank God, the three perpetrators who assaulted Rida (the victim) have been named as suspects,” said the Chairman of PC Ansor Tangerang City during a press conference.

According to the chairman, based on questioning investigators and the Investigation Results Progress Notification Letter from investigators, 15 people have been examined: 1 victim, the reporter (victim’s wife), and 13 witnesses.

“We will continue to monitor this assault case of the PC GP Ansor Tangerang City cadre until it is completely resolved,” he emphasized.

Separately, the Legal Aid Institute coordinator of PC GP Ansor Tangerang City appreciated the police and continues to push for thorough investigation of this case, providing strong support that police should not be afraid of the arrogance of parties committing violence and assault.

The hope is that whoever commits violence should no longer be tolerated, and this is our form of support that legal processes must proceed to uncover the case to its roots, even if the perpetrator of violence is a public figure.

“We hope this case is resolved completely because Rida (the victim) represents the people of Tangerang City who experience violence,” explained the coordinator.

This violence case could happen to anyone, not only to PC GP Ansor Tangerang City cadres. Therefore, this case must be uncovered, especially for ordinary citizens.

“This is our support for the victim, and we trust the Metro Tangerang City Police Department to hopefully uncover everything,” he stated.

When asked whether there were other suspects in the assault, the coordinator explained that based on information from the victim, there should be more because the incident involved more than 10 people committing violence.

When asked whether HBS personally assaulted the victim during the incident, the coordinator said that based on information from all parties involved there, this is what must be uncovered by the Metro Tangerang City Police Department.

Because Rida (the victim) was suspected of being directly escorted by HBS’s bodyguards into a room where the violence occurred. “We urge that the perpetrators of this violence must be completely uncovered, because from these three existing suspects, the police can develop the case further,” he elaborated.

In the previous incident, Rida, a religious gathering attendee in Tangerang City, was suspected to be a victim of assault. The perpetrators were suspected to be Habib Bahar bin Smith’s bodyguards. The victim has now officially reported this case to the Metro Tangerang City Police Department accompanied by the Ansor Legal Aid Institute.

The unfortunate incident occurred during the Prophet Muhammad’s Mawlid event organized by residents of North Poris Plawad, Cipondoh District, Tangerang City, on Sunday night, September 21, 2025.
