A motorcyclist receives a warning letter for a traffic violation during the 2024 Patuh Jaya Operation in Tangerang City, July 15, 2024.
Polda Metro Jaya will conduct the 2026 Patuh Jaya Operation for 14 days from June 8 to June 21, 2026, focusing on improving public compliance while reducing traffic violations and accidents.
During the operation, officers will monitor several violations deemed risky to road user safety.
Based on information shared via the TMC Polda Metro Jaya account, there are 13 types of violations prioritized for enforcement during the operation.
These violations include using a mobile phone while driving, motorcycles carrying more than one passenger, not wearing an SNI-standard helmet, and car drivers not wearing seat belts.
Additionally, officers will take action against drivers going against traffic, exceeding speed limits, and vehicles without Vehicle Registration Numbers (TNKB).
Violations of road markings and traffic signs are also on the monitoring list, including drivers running red lights.
Furthermore, vehicles entering busway lanes without permission, illegal parking, using modified exhausts, and vehicles not meeting technical specifications will also be targeted.
Here are the 13 violations that are the focus of the 2026 Patuh Jaya Operation:
1. Using a mobile phone while driving.
2. Motorcycles carrying more than one passenger.
3. Not wearing an SNI helmet.
4. Not wearing a seat belt for drivers or passengers in cars.
5. Driving against traffic flow.

In its implementation, law enforcement will still rely on the Electronic Traffic Law Enforcement (ETLE) system.
However, officers in the field will also directly address certain violations that the electronic system cannot yet cover.
The Head of the Indonesian National Police Traffic Corps explained that non-ETLE enforcement is necessary to ensure optimal traffic monitoring, especially in areas without ETLE devices or with limited surveillance coverage.
Meanwhile, the Director of Traffic for Polda Metro Jaya emphasized that the public can report if they encounter officers misconduct during traffic violation enforcement.
According to him, people are encouraged to record and report if they find any extortion practices or actions not following procedures during the 2026 Patuh Jaya Operation.
