The Narcotics Investigation Directorate of the East Nusa Tenggara (NTT) Regional Police dismantled a cross-island psychotropic drug distribution network.

During the operation, a 28-year-old man from Bireuen Regency, Aceh Province, identified by the initial S, was arrested in Tangerang. He was the one sending supplies of illegal drugs to the NTT region.

The arrest of S was the result of an investigation led from May 12 to 16, 2026. Suspect S is strongly suspected of being the mastermind behind sending illegal goods to a dealer identified as MI, who had already been placed in the NTT Police detention center.

From the arrest of S, police secured four locations for storing drugs and Class G hard drugs in the Tangerang and Jakarta areas.

During the raids, a total of 42,621 pills were seized as evidence, consisting of 1,150 psychotropic pills and 41,471 illegal hard drugs of various types.

In addition to the tens of thousands of sedative pills, officers also confiscated production and distribution equipment, including two mobile phones, dozens of plastic packaging wrappers, shipping boxes, digital scales, and a receipt printer.

The Acting Director of Narcotics Investigation for the NTT Police explained that suspect S exploited gaps in the shipping (expedition) route and online transactions to supply these dangerous drugs to Eastern Indonesia.

“This is a serious concern for us. Illegal drugs such as Alprazolam and Tramadol are very dangerous if misused because they can damage health, trigger addiction, and even potentially lead to other criminal acts,” he stated.

For his actions in supplying tens of thousands of illegal drugs to NTT, this young man from Aceh must now prepare to face his future behind bars.

Suspect S is charged under Article 62 of Law Number 5 of 1997 concerning Psychotropic Substances and Article 436 of Law Number 17 of 2023 concerning Health.

“The perpetrator faces a maximum prison sentence of 12 years or a maximum fine of up to Rp5 billion. Currently, we are still hunting down the supply network above S, whose identities we have obtained,” he concluded.
